THE SWEET & LOW DOWN

THE SWEET & LOW DOWN

Vaudeville is considered to be the very definition of variety and audiences will definitely find that at The Sweet & Low Down.

“It’s a pastiche of the 1920s era and everything about it and it’s a homage to a form of entertainment that was really popular back then,” producer Trent Kidd explains.

The Sweet & Low Down is a tribute to an era that was so influential to theatre and much work has gone on behind the scenes to ensure that what audiences see is absolutely perfect – within reason.

“A lot of research went into the era and the period to make sure that we were actually doing it justice and that we were actually doing it correctly,” Kidd adds.

A lot of success has come with The Sweet & Low Down in the form of 2012 sell-out shows, which was very much welcomed by Kidd. Though, what is equally pleasing for him is the variety of audience that has been attracted so far.

“I think the diversity of the show makes it appealing to a broader range of people and a broad demographic of ages,” says Kidd.

“It has something for everyone really.” (AH)
