THE SMURFS 2

THE SMURFS 2

Revered literary figure Franz Kafka was considered a genius of satire because you could never quite figure out his exact meaning. This kept the audience guessing and added depth and complexity to the story. The same cannot be said for Smurfs 2.

As obvious as it might be, this ninety minute kids flick barrages the audience with quirky jokes and quick quips that are all politically loaded and seem intended for adult audiences.

The film has a high emphasis on right-wing American values and there are a plethora of subliminal messages that are at best cynical and at worst confounding.

The film is overwhelming and potentially very influential to young minds. (LC)
