PLANES

PLANES

Planes is the Disney spinoff to the hit children’s movie franchise Cars and it lands just in time for the school holidays.

Dusty (Dane Cook) is a crop-dusting plane with a fear of heights and a crazy dream of competing in a famous around-the-world aerial race.

Planes flies under the DisneyToon banner as opposed to the usual Pixar collaboration and contains a lot of the same successful elements as Cars but the Pixar production is missed, making this a standard animation.

In a move to localise appeal Jessica Marais (Packed to the Rafters) voices the role of Rochelle in the Australian version (Seinfield’s Julia Louis Dreyfus features in the American release) and this ensures a character that stands out like a sore thumb.

A feel-good film that will keep the kids entertained for a couple of hours. (LL)
