All the gang are back in Grown Ups 2, the sequel to 2010’s smash hit, as Lenny (Adam Sandler) relocates his family to the town where he and his friends grew up and there’s plenty of misadventures awaiting them.
Expectations of an Adam Sandler comedy being cheesy and gross are always high, but Sandler has sunk to new lows in his latest offering, redefining the word ’embarrassment’. This senseless comedy devoid of any intelligence or humour only delivers the occasional chuckle, owing to a boring and cringeworthy script.
Improbable scenarios and subplots with vulgar toilet humour and sexual innuendos are prevalent and Sandler delivers his usual third-rate performance.
Grown Ups 2 highlights that Sandler has lost the art of making audiences laugh. (MM)
