Joining the fast food line-up on George Street is a little stealth vegetarianism, crossing over from south of the border. Lord of the Fries (who have eight Melbourne-based stores) dish up hand cut fries, special sauces (my pick is the Canadian poutine) and burgers with LOTF patties rather than meat. It’s sustainable, locally sourced and animal free, with vegan, gluten-free, kosher and halal options on offer too. The store has proved quite popular since it opened, with the queues lasting longer than the promise of free fries and sauce for the first two hundred attendees.  Looks like Sydney was hanging for some fast vegetarian…
