Discover ten tracks of what can only be described as ultimate abstractions.
Dutch maestro Cole Williams aka The Child of Lov’s self-titled debut is a bundle of unsettling and mind-meddling compositions. With distorted vocals, fractured guitars and an array of electronic elements, Williams has made a marriage of R&B, electro and indie rock to create a sound that is eclectic and, at times, danceable.
Living the Circle and Go With the Wind are definitely stand out tracks, combining unmistakably hip-hop influenced beats with a warbling falsetto and sinister whispers.
This album will deter upon first listen, though it’s a multi-dimensional feast and well worth the perseverance. (CD)
