SEBADOH – SECRET

These are the songs made from hangovers.

A sense of heaviness, rests lazily on top of the rhythm and inspires the creatively desolate lyrics. The guitar begins to wake up, around the middle of the album with track Arbitrary high, gaining energy and pushing the beat up. The album begins to branch away from a focus on pain, reaching towards the laid-back resignation of similar bands like The Thrills.

Secret takes a bit of listening to find the work beyond the white noise, but if you’ve got the patience and a taste for 90s grunge bands, the hangover will be worth it. (SP)
