Cheer up! Love prevails … or does it? In RU4Me, acclaimed actress Annie Byron presents a humorous look at the “challenges, joys and unexpected adventures of hoping to meet someone on the internet”.

Based on Andee Jones’ best seller Kissing Frogs, RU4Me is written and performed by Byron who plays Connie – a mature lady content with her life until her adult daughter Rose suggests she might find a partner on the net.

Never expecting to be alone at her age, Connie takes up Rose’s suggestion, and embarks on a hilarious crusade to find Mr Right.

Her “expectations were not initially high, but she becomes increasingly embroiled in the whole adventure of net dating,” says Byron.

This is the second season of RU4Me at Riverside. The first run was “extremely stressful,” says Byron, who only completed writing four days prior to the first performance. The return will be a more comfortable performance, although it remains, “tinged with a particular type of anxiety I’m not used to,” Byron explains.

RU4Me has attracted a wider audience than ever expected. No matter “what age/gender/sexual orientation, the same pitfalls of net dating exist for everyone”.

Comically appealing, RU4Me will bring smiles to the faces of its audience as “everyone can relate to the content”.

“Any adventure in life is worth the effort,” says Byron. “We’ll be dead for a long time!” (SC)
