It is widely regarded that Michael Jackson was (and for some always will be) the undisputed King of pop. He was a creative genius who pioneered impressive advances in music production, created gravity-defying dance moves, and was always trying to better his self both musically and personally, as well as encouraging humanity to ‘heal the world’.

It makes sense that the innovative Cirque du Soleil be the ones to take on the official task of celebrating Jackson’s huge life and music with their visual feast – Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour.

General stage manager and collaborator on the creation of this spectacular show, Seanne Farmer, says that Jackson was a fan of the immensely popular entertainment company.

“[Michael] would frequently make these under the radar trips to Las Vegas to see the shows and tour backstage. It was always part of his goals to collaborate with Cirque and do a show someday.”

After Jackson’s untimely death in 2009 Cirque reached out to the estate and they agreed to put the show together. Jackson’s family have attended and Farmer says they were overjoyed by the outcome of the production.

“The show is built in such a way that it really honours Michael,” she says.

“In the excitement of the show you keep waiting for him to take the stage, the only piece missing is when he’s going to enter.”

Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour is not just for hard-core fans, although there will be some hidden gems for those that truly worshipped the entertainer.

“You can expect to see an amazingly dynamic show that is filled with the best of the best.”

Farmer continues, “The music itself is magnanimous, it’s just a thriving, pumping show.” (LL)
