With bagels the new black in Sydney, my Eastern Suburbs dining expert Alex Harmon and I are at odds. While she’s a fan of Brooklyn Hide, I rate the original Darlie Laundromatic pop-up Brooklyn Boy Bagels better at boiled and baked breads. Her favourites are available every day in Surry Hills, whereas mine will be available at a super-cool Bagels, Beers & Beats pop-up at Helm Bar complete with live hip hop performances. Yep, it’s just a little slice of Brooklyn right down on Darling Harbour on Saturday 5th October from 12pm-4pm. A ticket will set you back $25 but it includes two bagels, complete with tasty schmear, two beers and entry. Now, which bagel do you prefer?
