ELYSIUM
It’s 2154 and humans have killed Earth. The super-rich have built and fled to Elysium; a giant space station, while the sick and poor have been left to live in cities-turned-slums.
Max (Matt Damon) is dying. Delacourt (Jodie Foster) wants to be President of Elysium. Story ensues.
Elysium boasts incredible special effects and some great action sequences in a rich, beautifully detailed world.
Damon, Foster and Alice Braga, to their merit, hold a quickly unravelling film together by the tips of their bionic fingers; with a rapidly moving plot and character motives changing faster than the audience can follow and sometimes for no discernible reason.
An interesting take on an aging concept. (TW)
