DIESEL – LET IT FLY
Should we hold Australian rock veterans to a higher standard?
Diesel is one such legend who should know better. His latest release, Let it Fly, is an overly up-beat country and western album where every single song has a super happy-fun-time chorus. Excruciatingly so.
It does have some interesting tracks – If You Let Me Give features a cool vocal harmony by Lila God and is a stand out. Unfortunately the pervading synth-ambience and Diesel’s Keith Urban style guitar overwhelm everything tasteful on this album.
Diesel’s appeal to Nashville will have fans crying out for him to change his name again. (LC)
