Vue Bar

When getting seen at Ravesi’s goldfish bowl wears thin, head to a secluded bar that has one of the best panoramas of Bondi Beach. You could almost miss it above the souvenir shops. Once inside, get cosy amongst whitewashed furniture, fairy lights, candles and even a blanket if it’s too cold. I dare you not to start with Sicilian Olives ($5.50) and cocktails. The Lava Lamp ($16) is a spicy orange-infused martini sure to warm you up on a winter’s night, or pretend it’s still summer with the Apple Crush ($16) – a tropical delight. It’s tapas and pizza, which if the couples dining at Vue are anything to go by, modern day romance is sharing. Risotto Arancini Balls ($11) with Bolognese sauce are tasty and plentiful, so no one misses out. Seafood Paella ($15) with plump prawns is the cutest meal in town, but its size may test some. Smoked Chicken and Pear Salad ($15.50) is just right with ample amounts of pine nuts and avocado. Beef a la Chico ($19) is a little tough, the scotch fillet doesn’t arrive medium rare, but the South American salsa makes amends. Desserts are fairly pedestrian, like Mud Cake ($9.50) but with good prices and a million dollar view, it’s hard to complain.
