Vitality is collaboration of electro-music and contemporary dance that is quite literally evolving. Choreographer Sarah-Vyne Vassallo says that she will be, “looking at technology and our relationship, particularly women in the 21st Century’s relationship to technology and how it’s very much an intrinsic part of our lives but also looking at how we adapt to it.”
Vassallo continues,”I found that there was some really beautiful parallels looking at the evolution of the bird to how we evolve in the 21st Century. It’s kind of like the undercurrent to the message or the story that I’m telling.
“It’s composition but at the moment it’s living more in the sound scape place, than a musical place. So we’re actually using sounds from phones and gadgets then partnered with some real medieval sounds, alongside some actual bird sounds as well. We’re technofying it.” (LC)
