THE SNOW QUEEN
Siblings Gerda and Kai grow up as friends after their parents are stolen away by the polar wind. The Snow Queen believes that Kai poses a threat to her reign of eternal winter and intention to destroy all art, so she sends her servant to capture him.
Gerda sets off on an adventure through the icy wonderland to rescue Kai from the Snow Queen’s palace and on the way meets new friends, overcomes obstacles and forces the Queen to reveal her true self.
Directed by Vladlen Barbe, The Snow Queen is a magical, whimsical and enjoyable computer-animated tale based on the classic by Hans Christian Andersen. It plays as part of the tenth annual Russian Resurrection Film Festival. (LL)
