THIS IS WHERE WE LIVE

THIS IS WHERE WE LIVE

Ah, to be young again, and wanting to break free. Winner of the 2012 Griffin Award, Vivienne Walshe’s This is Where We Live is set to take you right back to those beautiful ever-changing, demanding, and confusing teenage memories.

Director Francesca Smith calls this novel and intriguing story a “poetic prayer of hope set in a world of neglect and hurt,” with age-less and appealing universal themes of “dreams, escape, lost dreams, damage, isolation, acts of courage, incomplete grief and the power of creativity to heal”.

It tells the story of Chloe and Chris, “two bruised souls in the middle of nowhere (that seek) temporary solace in each other from the cruel and savage worlds of the school playground and the domestic war zone,” tells Smith.

Cast member Yalin Ozucelik further describes it as “beautiful poetic language [where they] hope to create an experience for audiences that is intimate and touching,” that in the words of Smith should leave the audiences “beautifully destroyed and opened up in a small intimate space in the cozy private dark!”

Powerful, compelling, and exploding with emotions, this performance is not to be missed. (JR)
