SLAVA’S SNOWSHOW

Slava’s Snowshow is like a child’s dream with a bigger budget, one that doesn’t quite make sense during waking hours but will thoroughly immerse the audience at all times.

So much can be conveyed with a small heave of the shoulders or a raise of the eyebrows as Slava meanders through the simplest of scenarios and makes them hilarious. The audience laughs just as hard at a babbled phone conversation between Slava and himself as they do at a make believe bed-boat with a circling “shark”.

This is theatrical clowning, far removed from the circus clowns the world is used to. Slava’s Snowshow proves that mimed comedy doesn’t need flashy theatrics to hit the mark, even though there are some beautiful staged effects and sublime accompanying musical arrangements included.

It is dark yet whimsical, silly and delightful – full of fun and wonderment for all ages. Be prepared for a finale that will blow everyone away. (LL)
