LIVE WIRE – Sydney Live Music Guide June 27th

Kate Miller-Heidke: She is one of Australia’s most unique songstresses with an equally unique name. Miller-Heidke will be hitting Sydney on Thursday as part of the Heavenly Sounds showcase, pairing up with long time collaborator Keir Nuttall for the first time since last year. The archaic setting of the church ensures that this gig is like no other; it will be inspiring and intimate and the acoustics will sound absolutely phenomenal. There are sure to be some tracks from her number one album Nightflight as well as hits Can’t shake It and The Last Day On Earth. It will be a show unlike any other!

Thu, Jun 27th, St Stephens Uniting Church

Coolio: The mastermind responsible for one of the most successful rap songs of all time is making his triumphant return to Sydney shores on Friday! Born as Artis Leon Ivey Jr., Compton gangsta Coolio is set to shake the walls of the Metro Theatre to its very foundations with his classic hip-hop/rap tunage. With classic beats such as Fantastic Voyage, C U When U Get There and, of course, the legendary Gangstas Paradise – it’s set to be a swagger down the 90s nostalgia train.

Fri, Jun 28th, The Metro Theatre

Clubfeet: Multicultural five-man machine Clubfeet have had a lot of success since the dawning of 2013. The release of Heirs and Graces, the follow-up to their 2010 debut Gold on Gold, is making waves within the international indie-pop music scene. This has resulted in their latest single Cape Town being released through the mega New York indie label Plant Music. These guys mean business, with this tour marking their rise to bigger and better venues like the Oxford Art Factory this Saturday night with support from rising Sydney mob Panama. It’s going to be a night worthy of a party.

Sat, Jun 29th, Oxford Arts Factory

SoulStice: A night set for the likes of fashion royalty, the end of this month will mark the return of Bar100’s successful cultural celebration, with the SoulStice landing this Sunday. After a successful launch in April, this event combines wonders of emerging fashion with cool, soulful beats to set up the perfect evening. Performances from artists Michelle Martinez and Mike Champion will set the mood for the evening, with additional appearances from DJ’s Don Juan, Try, Liche and JC.

Sun, Jun 30th, Bar 100, The Rocks

Fox Force Five: It’s the perfect marriage of music and film. Fox Force Five is comprised of Damien Lane, Jodi Phillis, Anthea Varigos Jai Pyne and a mysterious fox unknown, who specialises in bringing to life tracks that help light up the big screen. Featuring the works of some of Australia’s up and coming directors, including Benjamin Mathews, Matt Chuang, Matt Bird and Stephen McCallum, it’s set to be a night of movie madness and music grooving. A live experience like no other.
