KRIS MENACE – FEATURES

On this commendably varied album, Kris Menace (Christoph Hoeffel) examines his contact list and compiles a goody-bag of collaborations with some of EDM’s finest including Julian Hamilton from The Presets, the late Romanthony, Robert “the voice of house” Owens, and the list goes on.

The different vocalists on each of the tracks mean that each song possesses its own story and unique groove. This is true, especially of the poppy croon, Meant For You feat. Dominique Keegan.

Features is Menace’s first vocal-strong EDM record and although songs do emulate that familiar nightclub throb, cheesy, unimaginative vocals too often push this album back into cliché dance music territory. (KD)
