JOSH THOMAS – DOUCHEBAG

JOSH THOMAS – DOUCHEBAG

With his permanently tousled hair, puzzling accent and fondness for cute animals (well, his cavoodle John and at least two out of his three chickens), Josh Thomas is the last person you’d expect to be evil. His latest show, Douchebag, is about his fear that he might be turning into just that.

“It’s about me getting worried that I’m gonna, like, spiral into becoming evil,” says Thomas.

“I was holding my baby chicken Melinda when she was one day old, and just for a second I thought that I could crush her to death, and that worried me.”

Although the main focus of Douchebag is Thomas musing over this potential downward spiral, he admits he goes off-topic a lot.

“It’s just a stand-up show, just a series of things I thought were funny to say in a row.”

“Honestly, I mostly just wanted to put a semi-swearword in the title of the show to stop people bringing children.”

The show ends on a less evil note with Josh auctioning off homemade cakes for charity.

“I talk about really horrible things that I’ve done in my show, so I bake a cake and auction it off as, like, penance,” he says.

“Usually I do a chocolate cake with marshmallows, chocolate with peanut butter frosting or salted butter caramel frosting.” (AS)
