Magnificent views of Sydney Harbour across to the Harbour Bridge would seemingly make the Sydney Cove Oyster Bar an idyllic place for friends to sit and sip Champagne and slurp oysters.  So during last month the BAR FLY entourage did just that. However service here is consistently indifferent and unfortunately even abrupt. Try as I might on numerous occasions, I haven’t been able to score the kind of welcome here that you’d hope would showcase Sydney to international visitors let alone locals. In this instance despite an almost empty venue, BAR FLY and friends were asked to vacate our table for the next booking in the midst of an almighty downpour that left even our white tablecloth drenched. My eyes might have been deceiving me, but I didn’t see any other customers waiting in the rain…
