AFTER EARTH

After Earth’s impressive tagline reads: “Danger is real. Fear is a choice.” Given that it’s meant to be a Jaden Smith movie, “Hail the new Will Smith” should be its tagline. Unfortunately, that wouldn’t do justice to the movie either.

The easy-going, funny, and smart The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is missed – we would rather see an aging but legendary actor kick-ass than a wanna-be young son of the star learning how to not be afraid.

M. Night Shyamalan’s latest sci-fi action/adventure offering, tells the story of teenager Kitai Raige (Jaden Smith). When his father Cypher (Will Smith) gets his legs broken due to a crash on a “weird” looking Earth, he must man up to face the challenge of surviving this Earth.

Will and Jaden Smith’s brilliant chemistry from The Pursuit of Happyness is sadly missed. (JR)
