THE HANGOVER PART III

The Wolfpack is back but the formula is different. In the third instalment of The Hangover franchise the jokes are fewer and farther between with a firm focus on Alan’s (Zach Galifianakis) personal journey instead of random mayhem.

It’s almost like number two never happened (thankfully) as the gang head back to Arizona to help Alan get a handle on his out-of-control life. There is no bachelor party, so what could go wrong? With these guys – everything!

Ed Helms returns as Stu, the franchise’s punching bag, and as usual Bradley Cooper’s Phil is the pretty-boy centre of Alan’s crazy world.

Less out-there comedy and more action makes this a curious bookend to the night they could never remember.

Stay put for the end credits scene, thrown in to rid any doubt that this was a Hangover film. (LL)
