STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS

STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS

J.J. Abram’s Star Trek Into Darkness is a geek’s ultimate paradise. Explosions, laser fights and Benedict Cumberbatch (of Sherlock fame) as the film’s main antagonist, it’s a must-see in 3D. Combine that with a dose of bromance and a pinch of comic timing and you’ve got yourself an entertaining 133 minutes. Although its visuals are comparable, if not better, to its 2009 predecessor, its storyline is predictable and at times lacking in fluidity. The Starship Enterprise takes you to the edge of the galaxy, but your mind moves at an amble pace. Much of the film’s first half can be condensed, if not entirely disregarded, but nonetheless Star Trek Into Darkness is still fascinating. (SP)
