RICHARD III (OR ALMOST)

RICHARD III (OR ALMOST)

Bernard and Guy are failed actors trapped in a room – no one knows where or why. Then the bell rings and they are mysteriously forced to recite scenes from Richard III – for this is their peculiar torment.

Award winning writer, Timothy Daly (Kafka Dances, Derrida In Love) teams up with new Artistic Director, Markus Weber for EMU Productions’ inaugural show at King Street Theatre.

A play for two actors that traverses the dark psyche of the human soul, where friend becomes adversary and what seems to be is often not so. Well-known faces Gerry Sont (Home and Away) and Lucas Connolly (Paper Giants) serve up cryptic twists and turns with enough wit to keep despair at bay.

Shades of Sartre’s No Exit and with the villainy to seem a saint when mostly playing the devil. (GW)
