JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has returned to the stage, ready to delight theatre-goers of all ages. It’s newest reincarnation is proudly presented by the Chatswood Musical Society, which celebrates their 62nd anniversary this year. Based on the story of Joseph from the Bible’s book of Genesis, the music was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Tim Rice. This production promises to be stylish and extremely colourful with dazzling sets and costumes that will mesmerise audiences.

A talented and energetic group of 50 performers aged 5 to 50 have rehearsed tirelessly for many months, never losing their enthusiasm. Nathan Stark, 18, who plays the role of Joseph, has an impressive list of credits already receiving awards for his efforts.

“Audiences will enjoy this heart-warming, vibrant and very humourous musical. There’s little spoken dialogue and the music is appealing with techno, pop and rock ‘n’ roll amongst other styles,” says Stark. “I’ve tried to bring something new to the character of Joseph, but my portrayal has also been influenced by characterisations of other actors. This has been a very challenging and enriching experience.” (MM)
