AN EVENING WITH JULIE ANDREWS

AN EVENING WITH JULIE ANDREWS

Dame Julie Andrews is one of the world’s most loved musical performers, best known primarily for her roles as Mary Poppins and Maria in The Sound Of Music. Andrews is also an accomplished theatre actress, director and most recently, author.

After an operation on her throat to remove non-cancerous nodules left her with damage to her singing voice, Andrews has found a new way to communicate via her books and the stories of her amazing career spanning six decades.

She is now down under to bring her show An Evening With Julie Andrews to Aussie fans. Remarkably, this is her first time to Australia, asked why it took so long, Andrews explains, “life got in the way”.

At An Evening With Julie Andrews audiences can expect charming and intimate stories told with the grace and class that Andrews has become synonymous with. Nicholas Hammond who played Friedrich Von Trapp in The Sound Of Music will join her onstage as host.

Although there won’t be singing, Andrews says there will be previously unseen footage, “some of it very funny,” as well as lots of stories and music. “It’s been a long, long life,” she laughs. “I hope everyone will have a good time.” (LL)
