REVIEW – STORIES I WANT TO TELL YOU IN PERSON

When faced with a major life crisis, what rational person wouldn’t go see a psychic and pay copious amounts of money to be exorcised? In Stories I Want to Tell You in Person, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Through a series of hilarious anecdotes that could easily be plotlines from Friends, Lally Katz brings you up to speed on her life to date. She is cute, quirky, bubbly and awkward, and from the word “go” immerses you in the world of this young playwright.

For the most part this is a story about obsession, and how, while giving into it can land you a dream job and all the freedom in the world, it also tends to get in the way of your love life.

The downside to the play is that it lacks real depth. From time to time, even though Katz is being serious, it is easy to drift away.

Despite that, this play is guaranteed to keep you smiling from ear to ear, and provide you with many months worth of material for the water cooler. (LC)
