2013 AUDI FESTIVAL OF GERMAN FILMS

2013 AUDI FESTIVAL OF GERMAN FILMS

The annual Audi Festival of German Films is the largest German film festival outside Germany. Featuring 45 films that range from German Currents to Hot Docs and Kraut Pleasers, the eclectic mix of movies prove that this European country’s rich history leaves it with a depth of stories to tell.

The opening night film Two Lives is an intriguing drama that looks at the aftermath of a separated East Germany. Acclaimed Norwegian actress Liv Ullman gives a convincing performance as the mysterious Katrine’s mother.

For a few laughs, head along to Break-Up Man. Emotionally challenged Paul Voigt gets more than he bargained for when a routine case at his ‘relationship break-up agency’, sees him stuck with the needy, rejected Toto.

Another highlight includes The Wall, in which an Austrian woman becomes separated from the rest of humanity by an invisible wall. The scenery is stunning enough to have you planning your next trip to Europe. (KM)
