WILD NOTHING – NOCTURNE

Nocturne is the second full-length album from the relatively new band, Wild Nothing. This dream-pop offering is 11 tracks of mellow, shimmering keyboards and hazy vocals. It’s relaxed and even when the tempo changes, the vocals refuse to. It may come across as a bit samey to some but it’s easy, something to get the listener lost in another world and it happens so subtly. There is no flash here, only carefully thought-out lyrics with a lazy beat to transport them into the musical ether. Or it could be time-travel, track 11 – Rheya feels like it was looking for the 80s.
