DROP BLOCK PARTY

DROP BLOCK PARTY

Tis four nights before Christmas, and the culmination of six weeks of wordsmiths roaming in the Rocks Village Bizarre as part of the Rocks Pop Up artists residencies. So it is time to celebrate, and fresh from the success of the National Poetry Slam, Word Travels is presenting a night of music, MCs and performance poets.

The headline for the night is Big Village’s MUTE MC, a man at the vanguard of Sydney’s new wave of hip hop artists, and he will be well supported on the night by a cast of other MCs and spoken word artists including PT Fresh, MC Dazzle, Rob Gray and Desiree Cunningham. There will be two rooms and your host for the night is the sardonic dandy, Seaton Kay Smith.

In case you were thinking that wasn’t enough to entice you down to this wonderful harbourside event, there will also be projected multi-media works and live music from Anima, Delirium Enabler and Darren Brown.

All this in a space overlooking Sydney Harbour in the historic Rocks, it has to be a good way to ease out the year.

Dec 21, 6.30-11.30pm, 3 Hickson Rd, The Rocks, $20, dropblockparty.evenbrite.com.au
