CHARLIE & LOLA’S EXTREMELY NEW PLAY

CHARLIE & LOLA’S EXTREMELY NEW PLAY

This extremely new play from the loveable sibling duo Charlie and Lola utilises the book series and TV cartoon’s familiar cut-out collage style that has proven much-loved by Australia’s children. This time round we get to see the pair exploring the theme of four seasons, while the underlying story is still as much about friendship and children looking after one another. Two-dimensional puppets, audience participation and music make for a merry hour of squealing happy kids.

The play is a fast-paced affair with a lot of dialogue. The youngest children in the audience began to fidget by the end, so this show would best suit four- to six-year-olds.

The parents enjoyed it too; more than one emerging from the theatre sighed, “Well, wasn’t that a nice show!”… as did my four-year-old daughter, whose verdict was: “Can we come again sometime?”
