EXHIBITION: CARRIAGEartWORKS

As we prepare ourselves to bid a melancholy farewell to Art Month Sydney, afficionados out there will once more turn their gazes to Carriageworks, where closing night celebrations will be held on March 31st. Ever the overachiever, Carriageworks has once again outdone itself with carriageARTworks, an eclectic exhibition of some of the finest from Sydney’s city fringe in the lead up to the closing ceremony (and beyond). A broad mix of work on canvas, sculpture, photography, mixed media, video art, performance art and textiles, carriageARTworks will show until April 15th, and also features artist talks, tours and panels. The curatorial panel boasts some of Sydney’s most formidable figures, including Carriageworks Executive Producer Jamie Dawson, Casula Powerhouse Senior Curator Paul Howard, NG Gallery’s Nicky Ginsberg, Wilson Street Gallery’s Michelle Perry, and 2009 Archibald winner Guy Maestri. The result is a rare collection of work not usually found under one roof – a veritable one-stop shop (literally!) of Sydney’s fringe. For more information and timetables of talks, head to www.carriageworks.com.au.

Until Apr 24, Carriageworks, 245 Wilson St, Eveleigh, 8571 9099, carriageworks.com.au
