MOVIE: THE LIMITS OF CONTROL
Women with glasses are so cool they have their own porn category. Aficionados of the genre will be well rewarded by Jim Jarmusch’s achingly cool new film, which may (or may not) be a spy thriller. It features the stunning Paz de la Huerta, who we first see wearing nothing but a pair of spectacles and and a gun. Later she is filmed (by legendary Aussie Christopher Doyle) nude in a transparent raincoat, which in this chic environment, represents a very well-dressed young woman indeed. A contract killer (Isaach De Bankoké) is on an undefined mission, aided by an A-list of the uber-fashionable. His journey is both hypnotically engrossing and totally baffling. But it’s definitely NOT cool to come out of the cinemas asking, “What the…?” (RE)
