When the world is mired in uncertainty it is so uplifting to stumble upon a voice which immediately makes the hairs on the back of your neck prick up. Azure Ryder, a 23-year-old singer-songwriter from Sydney, did just that when we hit play on her debut EP, Running With The Wolves, this week.

Ryder’s voice is powerful yet soothing, beautiful and enchanting. Her voice and style have undoubtedly been influenced by the likes of Florence And The Machine, Norah Jones, Amy Winehouse, Stevie Nicks and Dusty Springfield.

Throughout the EP Ryder delivers incredibly catchy songs which are scattered with soul, RnB and folk influences. While all of these elements add depth to the songs it is Ryder’s incredible vocals which tie the EP together into a truly unforgettable pop music experience.

Azure Ryder is a must listen now! If this EP is any indication she will be a big export for Australian music before too long.
