Although he is perhaps best known as the current frontman for Queen, there is much more to Adam Lambert. His new solo record, Velvet, showcases the singer’s pop and disco side in incredibly catchy fashion.
From the outset of Velvet it is clear that this record is drastically different from anything you would hear from Lambert as part of Queen. This record is filled with mesmerising grooves, soul, disco and ’70s funk elements.
Lambert’s vocal performance remains as powerful as ever, particular on Closer To You.
Other standout tracks include the opener Velvet, Superpower, Overglow and the closing track Feel Something.
This is an album that is entrancing, spine chilling and special.
