CITYHUB PICKS

Get The Weed: a hilarious mockumentary about a secret mission ordered by President Jose (Pepe) Muijca to find 50 tonnes of cannabis. Hiring a brownie-making pharmacist to pull off the job the film shows off light heartened comedy paired with an all too known subject lingering in the midst. ★★★

Killing Jesus: set in Medellin, the real-life revenge drama comes from Melbourne film graduate Laura Mora and follows a young girl who solely witnesses the assassination of her father. Spotting the murderer at a party she befriends him over time finding maybe Jesus is just as much a victim as herself. A chilling true story that pulls on the strings on some uncomfortable emotions. ★★★1/2
