With Hit The Ground Running Faulkner explores his folk roots more whilst also weaving in a more mainstream American pop-folk ethos. Opening track Smoked Ice Cream is the perfect example of this as it fuses Faulkner’s stripped back guitar sound with a fun, catchy chorus that could potentially see this become a late summer hit.
