The Poor Kitchen

The Poor Kitchen by Daniela Giorgi is sizzling up a tasty treat this February in Newtown’s Old 505 Theatre. Directed by Paul Gilchrist, featuring Mark Langham, Samantha Meisner, Katrina Rautenberg, Randa Sayed and Benjamin Winkle.

This unique production is set in Southern Italy where the food is delicious, the people are gorgeous, and the pasta is perfection, leaving room only of course for the politics that tie it all together. Recently having inherited an olive farm in Italy, Elle finds herself sharing her new-found table with the spirits of a brutal and intriguing past. “The anarchists are crazy, but better than the fascists.”

Passionately praised for her previous plays, Daniela Giorgi has cleverly and successfully crafted theatrical narratives in the past, leaving expectations high for her latest theatre production.
