Winter has arrived, and as Sydney resuscitates its collection of heavy coats and scarves from their summer slumber, spring seems so very far away. But spring is coming – and so is the 2015 Surry Hills Festival!
Artist and designer studios, galleries and creatives are invited to open their doors to the public on Saturday September 26. This free family-friendly day will be packed with live music, pop up spaces, nooks and crannies bursting with performance, local narratives, food and art – an engaging showcase of what makes Surry Hills the heart of Sydney’s innovative creative district – but it can’t happen without YOU!
Musicians, artists, vendors and performers of all varieties are invited to get involved in celebrating this diverse and energetic suburb; Surry Hills has a colourful, wild history and we want to hear all your tales! Last year’s event saw crowds turn out in droves and this year will be even bigger, adding a new chapter in 2015 to ‘An Event of Stories, Love and Tales’. With great food, fresh produce, art, design, live music, entertainment and more there will be something for everyone.
Help welcome in Spring with open arms and a full heart at the 2015 Surry Hills Festival, be sure to get your application in by 3 July. Proceeds from the Surry Hills Festival go towards the Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre (SHNC), an organisation that helps and celebrates the vibrant local community.
