De Lux – Voyage
De Lux’s debut album Voyage is an indie-new-disco record with heavy inspirations from predecessors.
The clearest influences on the album are LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip, so much so that some of the tracks could be mistaken for theirs.
Voyage combines quirky beats with multiple instrumentals from rhythm guitars, synths, electric piano and even a little cowbell.
The vocal melodies on the album are high and airy, very much in the vein of the genre, however, these tracks are more about the instrumentals and beats.
Standout tracks include Better At Making Time, Love Is A Phase and It All Works All The Time. (JA)
