Amen Dunes – Love

Love is the third studio album by Damon McMahon: a simplistic, relaxed affair which evokes a multitude of emotions.

By using mainly simple acoustic chords and melodies McMahon highlights his voice which often sounds distant, yet still strong, and evokes an intense response while exploring broad themes of time, space and romance.

Standout tracks are I Know Myself, which is an introspective folk tune that explores McMahon’s full vocal range, and Lilac In Hand, which increases the complexity ever so slightly by adding piano chords to the percussion and works very nicely. (JA)
