TINY STADIUMS FESTIVAL
Asked about the name Tiny Stadiums, festival curator Amelia Wallin says it’s a “poetic way to capture what the festival does, it draws attention to the tiny spaces, that are often overlooked or forgotten and brings them to the foreground”.
Featuring a line-up of live art and performance installation, this community arts festival will showcase public and pedestrian spaces within inner-city Erskineville, as well as the nightlife of the area.
Nick Coyle, star of the one-man show Blue Wizard, which opens the festival, says it’s “about a wizard who crashes onto earth and is trying to get back home”.
“It’s a comedy,” he says.
Coyle has been out shopping at Lincraft, rummaging the shelves no doubt to put together his costume, which he promises will be a fantastic, visual feast for audiences.
Excited to be involved, he says the festival “shows people exciting new works that otherwise wouldn’t be put on”. (VP)
