Earlier this month I headed to Old Growler to see the two winning bartenders crowned from the Glenfiddich Pioneers Cocktail Competition. Evan Stanley from Black Pearl (VIC) took out first place for his Red Right Hand, which makes Glenfiddich 12-year-old single malt whisky into a clever aperitif by teaming it with Antica Formula, Campari and Joseph Catron Apricot. He, and second place winner Adam Bastow from Black Coffee Lyrics (QLD), will be off pioneering in Scotland in a trip that will include a visit to the Glenfiddich distillery.  If you’d like to try their cocktails (including my own favourite from the event, James Connolly’s Wise Old Sage) you’ll find a booklet of them prepacked with your Xmas Glenfiddich purchases.
