Audacious, bold and amusing are three words that might spring to mind when Nikki Nouveau’s Snow Fright and the Apple of Temptation rolls into town.
“Snow Fright and the Apple of Temptation is a dark-burlesque cabaret of murderous rivalry and enchantment based upon the German folktale of Snow White popularised by the Brothers Grimm,” explains Nouveau.
“The show is played against a live musical backdrop by a three-piece mini orchestra.”
Straight from the mind of classically trained cabaret songstress Nouveau, who puts her own twist on her beloved profession.
“My style of burlesque uses a variety of performance art styles to narrate its story. The show features song, magic, comedy, cabaret and physical theatre,” says Nouveau.
Snow Fright and the Apple of Temptation adds a pleasingly dark twist to the fairytales we know and love.
“My show explores the concept of death and rebirth as Snow Fright takes a bite into the apple and is mystically transformed,” adds Nouveau. (AH)
