BEST ISAKAYA

TOKO

If you want quality Japanese on a Saturday night, you have two options. Walk-in seating at Toko, or a reservation at Tokonoma its sister lounge next door, where an identical dinner menu is served. We love the way both venues up the ante by offering familiarity with a twist, like its California Maki with Queensland Spanner Crab or mojito with a charge of lemongrass syrup. But don’t leave Toko without trying the decadent Scampi Nigiri, Foie Gras and Truffle Oil Sushi, it’s a mouthful of happiness. With minimalistic interiors, lush seating and elegant-sized portions, Toko is an izakaya on steroids. (SL)
