Birthdays are a time to pause and reflect on your journey so far, and to celebrate ten years in hospitality the Shangri-La Hotel Sydney is inviting everyone to do just that. By sharing your favourite hotel memory on their Facebook page, you could win one of ten luxurious weekends away. Mine would have to be a recent backstage tour in the capable hands of Executive Pastry Chef Anna Polyviou. In her secret underground pastry kitchen Anna treated two tables of sweet-toothed fans to six courses of dessert. I am sure you can imagine just how high an airy Lemon Twist soufflé is, when it’s pulled out of an oven sitting right in front of you! She even packed us off with some take-home surprises, cleverly chosen to show us just what hotel guests receive with their room, from Redskin macarons, to decorated chocolate lollipops for the kids. It makes staying in house a very sweet proposition indeed, especially if your entry is a winner…
