THE UNLIKELY PILGRIMS

THE UNLIKELY PILGRIMS

This fascinating documentary is about an Australian drug and alcohol counsellor called Ronan who, along with three others who’ve finished their rehabilitation program, undertake an incredible 800 km pilgrimage walk across Northern Spain known as “The Camino de Santiago”.

Ronan believes this medieval Camino (walk) is therapeutic for the mind, where partakers will ultimately face their demons. With minimal possessions this mammoth adventure begins and their endurance and courage is pushed to the limits. It is agreed that Ronan will not act as their counsellor – a decision proving detrimental. Raw emotions flow as the Camino forces them to face their inadequacies. The Unlikely Pilgrims is a triumphant and inspirational journey into the unknown.

The Unlikely Pilgrims is debuting as part of the Sydney Film Festival. (MM)
