THE BULL, THE MOON AND THE CORONET OF STARS

Marion is an artist – idealistic yet grounded. Michael is the museum’s publicist. He’s married, so he’s safe. Who are they kidding? Desire is the monster that must be tamed but like a moth drawn to the flame – Bam! The wages of adultery are waking alone and feeling like death, but your life is not over when your heart is broken – and so she rises.

The Bull, The Moon and The Coronet of Stars is a joyous two-hander of heartbreak and healing – a playful romp with the faintest of nods to the Greek myths of Dionysius and co. Silvia Colloca (Van Helsing) and Matt Zermes (Holding the Man) are a lot of fun and gorgeous too. Never off-stage, their dialogue sparkles along from witty banter to internal voice at will. This could easily have become gloomy or overly sentimental but both writer (Van Badham) and director (Lee Lewis) have the lightest of touches.
