These days, most musicians will try to tell you that they stand out from the rest, very few actually do. When one comes along and tells you that their latest guitar is made out of a baking tray, you stand up and take note – introducing Claude Hay.

“I always try to find a new and different sound, the latest guitar is made out of a baking tray, it kind of gives it a sound between a resonator and a banjo, it inspires me to write different songs I think plus I really love doing it,” explains Hay.

At a torrid time for music in Sydney, with the iconic Annandale hotel going into receivership and the junkyard getting noise complaints, Hay’s latest single Good Times from his latest album I Love Hate You really hits home.

“It’s that classic story, the Luna park one of a fun park that’s been there forever and then some douchebag decides to move into the apartment right next to it and complains and gets the rollercoaster to close down.” (AH)
